Distance learning education and online degree programs may be available in many fields of study including, business, nursing, healthcare, education, engineering and technology, sciences, arts and humanities, criminal justice and much more.

Distance Studies provides detailed information on continuing education programs from colleges, universities, and online schools from the US and Canada. Each profile may give you information about the school, their online and distance education programs, delivery mode, student support and much more.

The searchable database may give you the opportunity to search for schools by institute name, level of study, or by area of interest. There are a wide range of programs to search for, including agriculture, business, education and nursing.  There may be online programs available at all levels, such as certificates, diplomas, undergraduate and graduate degrees.

In addition to the main profiles, there are also in-depth mini profiles, which give you specifics about particular programs, such as tuition, pre-requisites and program duration. If you need more details about a particular school, Distance Studies allows you to link to the school's website  from their profile. The request information system means that you may contact the admission adviser at the school, without spending time searching websites or directories for department information.

There are a variety of different resources available to you, including a distance learning survey to see if distance education is right for you, and a number of Distance Learning articles, which cover various aspects of studying such as academic life, employment and finance. There are also Virtual Tours , which give you an insight and more information about the online school and facts on how their distance education studies can work for you.

So, if distance learning is right for you, take the first step and use Distance Studies. Then in a couple of weeks, it could be you taking your first online class from the comfort of your own home!

About the ACT

The American College Test, or ACT, is administered by the American College Testing Company five times a year. A three-hour, multiple choice exam, the ACT is substantially different from the SAT. It is designed to measure academic achievement in four major curriculum areas: English, mathematics, reading, and natural sciences. The ACT is not an intelligence test. It measures the knowledge, understanding, and skills that students have acquired up to the time of the test. Because the ACT is predictable, students may prepare through lots of practice.
