  Program Overview
Distance and Online Education (DE) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers over 139 degree credit courses across twelve faculties/schools. Complete programs offered include a Bachelors of Arts, Arts in Geography, and Social Work; a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education and a Baccalaureate Program for Registered Nurses.

Most newly admitted students and those who have completed less than 24 university credit hours will complete the first year of their degree programs in University 1. Some students may be admitted through General Studies, which provides an opportunity for individuals to study degree credit courses for meeting entry requirements, career development or personal interest.

Full courses (six credit hours) normally take two terms to complete, while half courses (three credit hours) take one term to complete. Full term courses begin in either September or January.

In addition to tuition, which is C$345-$423 per three credit hour course, students must remit a nonrefundable application fee ($60-$100) plus any other compulsory fees (i.e. registration fee, student services fee, etc). For further information regarding application, tuition and other fees (including fees for international students), please refer to www.umanitoba.ca/applynow.

Support services are provided through DE Library Services, the UM Book Store, and the DE Student Support staff who can provide assistance or direct students to the appropriate person for academic advising. DE Student Support staff can be contacted at 1-888-216-7011 ext. 8012 or at de_info@umanitoba.ca.
